Strategic Buyer
An international production company of Pressure vessels and Sheet metal is looking for an experienced procurement strategist! Do you have experience finding new suppliers and maintaining relationships with existing ones? Can you recognize the best offer based on price, quality, and overall service? If so, let’s meet.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead strategic sourcing initiatives, ensuring supplier reliability and performance improvement, for
- production (steel coils, copper tubes, steel tubes,…),
- non-production and consumable materials,
- services (for ex-maintenance activities),
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to ensure best prices, delivery terms, payment conditions and compliance with company policies
- Key person for negotiating prices and searching new suppliers during sales activities and start up of new potentional business
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, quality, production, finance, warehouse) to support new product introductions and continuous improvement
- Manage supplier relationships, proactive communication with suppliers
- Monitoring material prices
- Active communication with suppliers
- Set up on new items and suppliers in our ERP system
- Purchase of non production and consumable materials
Requirements:
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills
- Technical understanding to interpret engineering drawings and quality specifications
- Secondary school or university degree in a technical or economic field (combination is an ADVANTAGE)
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar position
- Knowledge of a manufacturing environment is a MUST (ideally engineering)
- Very good English is a MUST (minimum B2) – regular communication
- Independence and advanced knowledge of Excel
- Willingness to travel
